About Us.....actually about me

Thanks for visiting my site.
I am a one woman cottage industry in beautiful western Maine.
I do have my "helper", Russell, my adopted Springer Spaniel.
I retired early from a nursing career. 20 years in a special care unit wore me down. I felt like I should be admitted! 😃
My first business was called "Buttermilk Lane Jewelry". I made one of a kind jewelry from flowers I grew and pressed. I did many craft shows including large shows like the Philadelphia Flower Show, RI Flower Show,
Portland Maine Flower Show and I even did one in Vancouver, BC.
Needless to say, it was exhausting, but not as much as my second business venture.
This is when I started doing Botanical Art. I would scan live flowers and bring the scan into Photoshop to clean it up. Every bit of dust shows with a scan! I would then print them with a black background (ahhh, the ink I used) I did some big shows with my prints and also developed note cards from my scans. These were so much fun to do. But, alas, dragging around large framed prints and the carpeted backdrops was totally exhausting for this aging body!

Here are two of my favorite scans along with a note card sample. The Niko Blue hydrangea was cut from my garden. I love them but find them so temperamental. I love how the milkweed seeds have the appearance of floating in air. This is my all time favorite. Anyway, enough on that business! You can buy my Forget-Me-Not note card on this site. Now the evolution to the here and now with Memorial Flower Preservation! I continued to sell my Buttermilk Lane jewelry on-line as I was selling my Botanical Art. I received requests from people asking if I could put their loved one's funeral flowers in jewelry. It sounded strange at first. It no longer seemed "strange" when I would get e-mails and letters thanking me for my work and to say how much it meant to them. I then realized there was nothing strange about making people feel a bit of comfort with my custom memorial items. (read the footer note from a customer) I feel blessed.🙏 I have now put the original jewelry to rest and have been working full time with the memorial items for close to 15 years. I do have many miscellaneous things from my past endeavors that are gathering dust. I would like to have a Misc. category and offer note cards, older style jewelry and more. Many thanks for visiting.
